I’ve been here a couple times for group shoots and actually…the atmosphere was great. Great for what I do anyway…. :-)
The time I spent there is responsible for some shots that to this day I love and feel fortunate I was able to capture.
Ironically the reason I won’t be going back has nothing to do with scary hallways, dirty windows, rude staff and the like.
That reason (which I’ll keep to myself) was/is much more impactful than anything in this article.
No means no, even in stolen photos.
BEST part of this article:
“The ways in which we talk about hacked photo scandals like this one are certainly very close to the ways we talk about rape. Consider a recent tweet from Ricky Gervais for just one example of thousands going on right now:
“Celebrities, make it harder for hackers to get nude pics of you from your computer by not putting nude pics of yourself on your computer.”
In other words, if you didn’t want people to see you naked, you shouldn’t have undressed like that. This sort of thing is a form of victim blaming that puts all of the shame on the women in question and none on those who are actually at fault.”
Followed by this:
“As men, we get to have it both ways: chiding our partners into sending us images, heaping praise upon the bodies of women we find attractive who have done so (and brutally mocking those we don’t), then turning around and castigating them as sluts when they actually comply and it better suits our narrative. A girlfriend who sends you a naked selfie is a hero to most men, until she doesn’t want to do so anymore, at which point she’s a whore who sends out naked photos of herself.”
I think we all, regardless of gender really need to get a clue…but (us) dudes especially. This isn’t “CN-style feminism” …. it’s recognition of fucked up thinking as well as pointing out a lapse of logic and common sense.
I must be getting old.
Wait….strike that. Reverse it.
Not necessarily old. I’m getting jaded.
I actually see nude women alot. We create images that (hopefully) we can both be kinda proud of.
Salivating over the boobies of some celeb whose STOLEN PRIVATE images you paid bitcoin for or scoured the darkest regions of the nethernet to get seems to me to be a bit….desperate.
Like one-handed surfing desperate.
Ew. Dude.
Man up.
Properly.
