(Slightly edited…From a recent Facebook post.)
Big admission here: I’m ALOT less “angry” and sarcastic in person than I portray myself to be here and in other social media outlets.
Reason: teh Lulz.
I don’t take this place (Facebook….or my “social media” self in general) too seriously because, simply, there is no need to be otherwise. The Internet is just a big stage and EVERYONE has a script they’ve been working on. In that kind of environment….what is real and what is cleverly orchestrated fuckery is pretty blurred. Often it’s the latter.
There is a distinct line here (for me) between diversion and reality. Most, if not all, of my work is a resemblance but not reflective of anything real. Likewise here: The “dislikes and rants” I spew pretty much are the dislikes and rants of my personal worldview in a larger font with a bullhorn. No endorsement or encouragement to follow along is intended. So…
Eat your tapioca pudding.
Down chili-cheese tater tots and a sundae before working out.
Take those selfies.
Watch your TV shows.
If it makes you happy (and isn’t illegal)….that’s all that matters. Not my cuppa, but that should be irrelevant. You really shouldn’t get butthurt because I do things differently. Every comment that goes against your own “worldview” isn’t an attack on you and everything you stand for. Relax. My way isn’t the “right” way…..it’s just simply MY way.
In person, I’m…just…Chris, as many will attest. Not really “Facebook Chris” or “Twitter Chris.” Just Christopher Nero. Clumsy. Bad jokes. Meh.
Don’t get me wrong, I still believe what I say/spew. There are people out there I can’t stand especially in this funny world for “alt-photography.” BUT that zealot motif is certainly not a primary way of rollin’. Contrary opinions are welcomed and sometimes even considered. You shut your mind, you cripple yourself.
Online, like everyone else, by design, I’m a cartoon character.
Ok…maybe an ANIME character. Giant robots with wings and shit…. without the tentacle porn. (Yeesh.)
Your mileage may vary.
As always.
