“Nice,” she said after she read the message.
“Yeah.” I said and went back to editing.
She sighed. “Ok….here we go. How do you know she wasn’t sincere?”
“I haven’t known her that long to deserve those words….but I have worked with her enough to know recognize …her…marketing. ”
“So now you are all pissy.” I knew that tone.
“No,” I said, “Maybe years ago. Not now. Its routine. Shared goals. Nothing wrong with it as long as you recognize what it is. You play in the illusion. You don’t accept it.”
She leaned over close to me. Sensual. Instructional. “You know….not everyone…not every model….does that.”
“I know.”
“You live a lonely life if you don’t believe in the sincerity of people,” She said softly, leaning closer to my ear. Authoritative. Cute. I tried to ignore the tickle in my ear and other things going on. It wasn’t hard to do….given the topic.
