Oblivious, he moves….but not out of arrogance or naiveté. That’s easy, simple and he would like to think that his emotions and his modus are a bit more complicated than that. This….is deliberate, maybe a bit subtle. It’s an act, somewhat.
The years have had their effect; a decidedly mixed bag of successes and failures that have been both supporting and unforgiving. Nothing atypical. But this “way” of going forward: It’s not in the execution.
He’s heard the words. He know the situations. He’s seen the angles. No, it’s not that. You can’t, he figures, know it all or give too much time to pain or pleasure. You WILL be run over by….well, EVERYTHING with that way of thinking.
There’s power in pretending not to notice. It’s in the perception, because it’s ALWAYS about perception. In general people are lazy about it even though, ironically, perception is biggest internal voice in that contest of influence and often given few cycles in the decision process. He knows this. He does it himself; It’s part of the human condition. That oblivious façade he is running takes advantage of that flaw and works with it. In return the data comes back, steadily and constantly.
It sounds…mechanical. It’s not. He knows better. It’s just matter of being awake.
So, oblivious because its safe.
Oblivious because it covers the self and reveals the intent of others.
Oblivious because, it’s seems like the best way to proceed at the moment.
He moves.
